CRIME SCENE Hospital admitted 250 labourers to fake patients

‘DOCTORS, STAFF TRIED TO EXTRACT INTERNAL BODY PARTS’

Lucknow: Days after the arrest of Luv Saxena, Director of MC Saxena & RR Sinha Memorial Hospital, several doctors & members of staff of the hospital have been found guilty of illegal admission of nearly 250 fake patients to obtain affiliation for the institution.

The hospital authorities and staffers have also been charged with trying to extract internal body-parts of these fake patients by injecting them with fluids not prescribed by any doctor.

On February 8 this year, the Dubagga-situated RR Sinha Memorial Hospital, in order to bluff a visiting Medical Council of India (MCI) team, had admitted nearly 250 labourers asking them to fake as Inpatient Dept (IPD) patients in exchange for financial benefits.

It was reported that more than 15 staff members including doctors were involved in this crime to obtain affiliation for the institution.

Police are also looking for contractors who provided the labourers to the hospital which kept them hostage for long.

Police have recovered several illegal documents from the office and residence of Dr Luv Shekhar Saxena. Speaking with First India, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), said that those who have been named in the FIRs will all be arrested soon.

“At present, Luv Saxena is in judicial custody. We have rounded off at least five people and are interrogating them.
