Palace on Wheels gets 1st rank in Condé Nast luxury train survey

Jaipur: For 42 years, the Royal Train, Palace on Wheels, has been recognized as a cultural ambassador for Rajasthan and India and it has now been honored as the world’s best luxury tourist train.

Last year, Palace on Wheels ranked second, but upgrades in the train’s facilities have propelled it to the top this year. In the Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Awards 24, a survey conducted among people worldwide placed Palace on Wheels in the first place. The survey included the top 20 luxury tourist trains globally. Notably, this year, three trains, including Palace on Wheels from India, ranked in the top 13. The Golden Chariot secured the 11th position, while the Maharajas’ Express, operated by IRCTC, ranked 13th.

Under the direction and supervision of the tourism corporation, world-class facilities have been developed on the royal train, leading to an excellent response from tourists.

Sushma Arora, the Managing Director of the RTDC, expressed her happiness at the royal train being chosen as the world’s best luxury tourist train. She stated that the royal train is a prestigious project for the tourism corporation, which conducts regular monitoring.
