‘Expand banking to realise vision of a developed India’

Udaipur: Union Finance and Cooperative Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired a review meeting of Regional Rural Banks in Udaipur, focusing on action plans to address banking sector challenges and reviewing last year’s progress. “Expand banking to realise the vision of a developed India,” she stated.

Sitharaman also inspected the Small Industries Development Bank office on Airport Road. During the meeting, key officials, including Secretary M. Nagaraju, Additional Secretary MP Tangirala, NABARD Chairman KB Shaw, RBI Executive Director Jayant Kumar Das, and MDs of Bank of Baroda, Bank of Maharashtra, and State Bank of India, presented progress reports.

Officials from nine regional rural banks, NABARD, SIDBI, and major banks, including State Bank of India and Bank of Baroda, briefed the Union Minister on their progress and future plans.
