LOVE BEYOND EMOTIONS

To know this side of this pure emotion, bestselling novelist Durjoy Datta talks about his latest book 'When I am With You & all things Love & Romance' and discussed the depth and background of his characters. Reflecting on his emotional distance from writing about young love as a 37-year-old father of one, Durjoy Dutta, in conversation with author Kiran Manral at JLF 2023, said that he doesn’t want to sound spurious by penning young age characters as he can’t relate to them anymore, so he chose to write on older characters, which is a reflection of his life and relationships today.

“I earlier used to say my books are successful because they’re relatable, now I no longer say that,” said Dutta, adding that his subject matter has evolved with his latest novel When I Am With You, which deals with a 28-year-old single mother who is balancing entrepreneurship and a new relationship."

In another session, Philanthropist and entrepreneur Surina Narula was in conversation with celebrated actress Deepti Naval where the diva discussed her memoir, A Country Called Childhood, which is based on her childhood in Amritsar. During the session, Naval shared her insights and expressed how the issue of mental health informed her work along with discussions on the influences that made her different in the film industry. While discussing the beauty of memories the intellectual writer said, "My book is not just a regular book where tell people about all that I lived, rather I want to recreate my childhood for a reason, I wanted to take you to the corridor of memories setting up things the way I remember them, it is not a typical memoir."
