With rain, power demand reduces

Jaipur: Pre-monsoon rains in Rajasthan for last 4 days have brought a big relief from the power crisis as the demand for electricity has come down drastically.

The demand has reduced by 9.18 crore units and as a result of it, undeclared power cuts have been stopped and no power cut was there anywhere in the state.

The electricity consumption in the state, which had increased to 32 crore units per day, has come down to 22.82 crore units.

The demand during peak hours is 10718 MW and the average demand is 9510 MW whereas the availability of electricity is 11202 MW, which is 1692 MW more than the average demand.
