Search underway for new RERC Chairman in Raj

Jaipur: The tenure of BN Sharma, the current Chairman of the Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC), concludes on July 30, prompting the Energy Department to invite applications for his successor. Sources indicate that 30 officials, including retired IAS officers Rohit Kumar Singh and Ravishankar Srivastava, have applied for the position. Notably absent from the applicants are potential contenders such as former Chief Secretary Usha Sharma, former IAS officer PK Goyal, and senior IAS officer Rajeshwar Singh.

Following an extensive review of all applications during a recent meeting, Selection Panel has opted to extend application deadline to Aug 23, providing another opportunity for qualified candidates to apply.
