Rs 9600 cr okayed for PKC-ERCP phase 1

Jaipur: Finance Minister Diya Kumari has presented a combined budget for agriculture and water resources, emphasizing substantial provisions aimed at benefiting farmers. A key highlight is the Rajasthan Irrigation Water Grid Mission, under which works of more than Rs 50,000 crore will be taken up to address the acute need for irrigation water across the state.

A Run Off Water Grid will be established to ensure availability of drinking and irrigation water in droughtprone areas, encompassing initiatives such as river connectivity.

In the first phase of the government’s dream project PKC- ERCP, approval of Rs 9600 crore has been issued. On the other hand, the DPR of Yamuna Water Project will be prepared at a cost of Rs 60 crore.
