Jaipur: The state’s dream project refinery may now take one more year. In the progress report collected by the government regarding this project, it has been said that only 79.4 percent work was completed till May 2024. During the previous Ashok Gehlot government, the deadline for this project was set till March 2024.

Currently, work is going on in 13 units of this project in Pachpadara of Barmer and Rs 40,029.41 crore has been spent on it so far. The total cost of the project is Rs 72937 crore. The construction work of Rajasthan Refinery is being done by HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL). The work of the state’s megaproject refinery was started on 16 January 2018 with the promise of completion of the project in October 2022. Due to the slow pace of three years of Corona period and increased inflation, the initially proposed project of 43129 crores crossed 75 thousand crores. Barmer Refinery will operate at 75 to 80 percent capacity in the first year as various units will be commissioned. It will reach full capacity by 2028.
