Accelerate revenue growth via tourism development: CM
Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has instructed to expedite high-priority tourism development works, especially in areas with high tourist inflow, to boost state revenue. Addressing a Tourism, Art, and Culture Department meeting, he emphasised effective branding and international marketing of key tourist spots, fairs, and festivals. Sharma reiterated the government’s commitment to creating employment opportunities in tourism, with the Chief Minister’s Tourism Skill Development Program offering training to 20,000 youth and folk artists over two years.
The CM urged the Tourism Department to enhance ancient monuments’ appeal, drawing inspiration from successful sites in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat. He announced a new tourism policy to boost infrastructure and promote eco, rural, heritage, and adventure tourism. He reviewed projects like Maharana Pratap Circuit and Fossil Park.
