Plan to build Rs 1100 cr elevated road put on hold to get reviewed

Jaipur: A proposed Rs 1,100 crore elevated road project between Ambedkar Circle and Jawahar Circle in Jaipur is unlikely to proceed, as CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has instructed a review of the plan.

In a recent high-level meeting, the CM raised concerns about the potential negative impact of the project on the aesthetics and uniqueness of the city’s JLN Marg.

The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has received instructions to explore alternatives, including the possibility of constructing an elevated road along Tonk Road.

This shift follows concerns that the current project could disrupt the city’s beautification efforts. On the other hand, CM Sharma has approved the construction of two new railway overbridges (ROBs) and one flyover in Jaipur
