Our aim will be to improve the players and cricket of Raj, says Vaibhav Gehlot

Jaipur: After the victory, RCA President Vaibhav Gehlot has assured that he will work for the betterment of Rajasthan cricket by taking all the districts together. RCA’s formal AGM was held today, in which election results were announced by Sunil Arora.

Shakti Singh was elected as Vice President, Bhavani Samota as Secretary, Rampal Sharma as Treasurer, Rajesh Bhadana as Joint Secretary and Farooq Ahmed as Executive Member.

After the election, Vaibhav Gehlot said, “3 years ago we started improving the infrastructure of Rajasthan cricket. Under this, the construction work of the International Cricket Stadium has started in Jaipur.”

At the same time, he said, the Barkatullah Khan Cricket Stadium in Jodhpur has been prepared for international matches. Along with this, land has been acquired from UIT in Udaipur for the new cricket stadium where the construction work of the stadium will start in the next few days.

“Our aim will be to improve the players and cricket of Rajasthan,” Gehlot said, adding that he would work closely with all the 33 district unions.

Earlier, Election Officer Sunil Arora congratulated the newly elected office bearers of RCA and gave them the certificates of victory. In the RCA’s AGM, Sunil Arora said that RCA had requested him to conduct elections and he is happy that all the district unions are united.

Retired IAS officer TR Meena also played an important role in these elections.

Arora said it was a good thing for him that the RCA elections went unopposed. He also quipped that RCA showed unity in the election, but can’t say how much it is.

After the withdrawal of nomination by the Nandu faction, all the 6 candidates of CP Joshi faction have made a clean sweep in the elections.

All the district secretaries of Nandu faction also attended the AGM, who withdrew their nominations in support of Vaibhav.
