DA case: Commercial tax babu and wife were on ACB’s radar
Jaipur: The Intelligence Unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided three different locations in Jaipur city and Karauli against the Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Tax Dept for accumulating income exceeding the declared amount.
ACB Director-General Hemant Priyadarshy said that after verifying the complaint against Chaubey Lal Meena Deputy Commissioner, Commercial Tax Department, Rajasthan, Jaipur, an investigation was initiated for assets beyond known sources of income. Searches were conducted at 3 different locations on Thursday.
According to the documents obtained so far, Meena and his wife are suspected of acquiring numerous assets beyond their legal income. The accused Deputy Commissioner had invested in illegal residential/commercial properties, flats, mutual funds, insurance, etc. in Jaipur. Under the guidance of ACB Director, Savai Singh Godara, raids are on at possible places. The case has been registered against Meena under the Prevention of Corruption Act and an investigation is on.
