Jaipur: The challenges facing Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) Heritage Mayor Munesh Gurjar continue to mount. Following an earlier notice from the Department of Local Bodies (DLB), the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) issued a fresh summons on Thursday, requiring her to appear in court on September 19.
The notice, addressed to Gurjar at the JMC (Heritage) office, states that charges have been substantiated under the Prevention of Corruption Act. With the department of local self-governance granting approval for prosecution, the High Court has also directed the submission of a charge sheet within two weeks, by September 19. As a result, Mayor Gurjar is now obligated to appear in court on September 19 at 10 a.m.
Actually, the hearing is to be held after two weeks, taking on record the sanction for prosecution against Munesh Gurjar. On Monday, Justice NS Dhaddha had given this direction on the petition of Sudhanshu Singh Dhillon.
