Bali: The annual G20 Summit opened in Bali on Tuesday with world leaders set to discuss over the next two days challenges triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic and more recently topped by Russia’s war in Ukraine. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed at the summit venue by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, ahead of the formal opening of the summit. Indonesian President Joko Widodo told G20 members they must avoid another world war as he opened a leaders’ summit dominated by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in Bali on Tuesday.”We should not divide the world into parts. We must not allow the world to fall into another world war,” he said as he opens a leaders’ summit dominated by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in Bali. During the day, PM Modi, along with other world leaders, participates in G20 summit’s second working session on the theme of ‘Health’, at Apurva Kempisnky hotel in Bali. PM Modi greeted the gathering at the Indian community event in Bali, as people chanted “Modi, Modi”. Addressing the Indian diaspora Modi said as I speak to you in Bali and we sing songs of Indonesian traditions in India’s Cuttack, Baliyatra Mahotsav is going on.
