‘UNWELL’ STEPWELL!

Indore: Fourteen people lost their lives and several were rescued after the floor covering a well at a temple in Indore cave in while Ram Navami celebrations were underway on Thursday. The incident was reported from the Shri Baleshwar temple in the Sneh Nagar area of the city.

MP Home Minister Narrotam Mishra said that 14 people were killed in the mishap. 12 bodies (11 female and one male) have been recovered from the spot while 19 were rescued. Among the rescued people, 2 people succumbed to injuries. According to the information, the covering of the well collapsed while worshippers were standing over it inside the temple.

The eyewitnesses said around two dozen people were standing on the step well at the time of the incident. Locals said ambulances and fire brigade services did not reach the spot in time.
