Contest held: Tarun bags Mr Desert, Payal Ms Mumal title

Jaisalmer: The world famous Maru Mahotsav was organised at Shaheed Poonam Singh stadium here with much fanfare on Monday.

It started with the release of golden balloons by HC judge Justice Devendra Kachhwah and Major General GOC Yogendra Singh.

Many fascinating competitions like longest moustache, Mr Desert and Ms Mumal were held while a float based on the eternal MumalMahindra love story was displayed on the occasion.

Local damsel Payal bagged the Ms Mumal title while the Mr Desert title went to Tarun Sharma of Pali. Another crowd-puller was headgear tying contest which was won by Chandraveer Singh, followed by Mohan Singh and Amb Singh Rajpurohit respectively.

Collector Dr Pratibha Singh, SP Bhanwar Singh Nathawat, Jaipur District & Sessions judge Gyan Prakash, municipal chairman Hari Ballabh Kalla and Income Tax Commissioner Fateh Singh were prominent among those attended the function.
