Woman tied to tree, beaten; 5 held

Banswara: A woman was allegedly tied to a tree and beaten by her husband in Banswara’s Ghatol area over suspicion of illicit affair.

Police informed that five people, including husband, have been arrested after a video went viral in which the victim is seen being thrashed by the husband. NCW chairman Rekha Sharma wrote to DGP for filing the FIR, arresting the accused, and arranging medical treatment and safety for the victim. She had gone to her inlaw’s home with her friend, Devilal on July 24 but both of them were held hostage by on suspicion of an illicit affair.
