Tribals preserve country’s culture: Governor
Mount Abu: Governor Kalraj Mishra on Saturday said that tribals have an important contribution in preserving the country’s culture and traditions along with saving water, forests, and land. He said that continuous efforts are necessary to bring the tribal people into the mainstream by making them self-reliant and economically empowered.
The Governor was speaking at a programme in which he distributed mini pulse mill, improved poultry breed and steel seed storage tanks to the tribal farmers of Mount Abu region on behalf of Agriculture University, Jodhpur at Raj Bhavan.
He also appreciated the work being done by Jodhpur Agricultural University under the project of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research for the empowerment of selected farmers in Abu Road, Pindwara, & Pali.
VC of Agriculture University Jodhpur Prof. BR Chaudhary said that by selecting the beneficiaries, the training of techniques related to agriculture & animal husbandry is continuously provided by university.
He said that activities related to self-reliance and empowerment are being conducted in tribal areas through Krishi Vigyan Kendras. Principal Secretary to the Governor Subir Kumar, Principal OSD to the Governor Govindram Jaiswal, and others were also present on the occasion.
