Teen’s organs gift life to 4 patients
Jodhpur: A 19-yr-old brain dead person saved the lives of 4 persons in Jodhpur. The organs of Vikram Kuma, were donated to AIIMS Hospital on Wednesday. This is first time in Jodhpur AIIMS when the organs of a brain dead person were donated. Vikram Kumar met with an accident on Monday in Boranada.
AIIMS Superintendent Dr. Deepak Jha said that Vikram became brain dead due to the accident. His liver, kidneys and lungs were fully functioning.
In such a situation, the doctors of AIIMS asked Vikram’s father to save lives of four people by donating his liver, kidney & one lung.
Vikram’s father and family took decision to donate organs. Dr Deepak Jha said that one kidney and liver will be sent to AIIMS Jodhpur, one kidney to SMS Hospital and the lungs to Medanta Gurugram.
