Student, teacher ‘in love’ tracked down in Chennai
Bikaner: The Bikaner Police on Wednesday tracked down a 17-year-old girl and her female teacher in Chennai, days after the two went missing and later posted a video online saying they are in love and wanted to be together, Bikaner SP Tejaswani Gautam said.
Class 12 student and her 21-year-old female teacher disappeared on July 1 triggering protests in Sri Dungargarh town of Bikaner district. The minor girl’s family members termed it a case of “love jihad” and alleged that the teacher had abducted the girl and brainwashed her.
Bikaner IG, Om Prakash informed that police team tracked couple’s movements and located them in Chennai on Wednesday with help of local Police.
Police booked the teacher under sections 363 and 366, both related to kidnapping, and 120-B of IPC and under sections of Juvenile Justice Act.
Meanwhile, the teacher’s family also filed a missing person report.
