Shekhawat backs PM Modi on Article 370, hails Raj’s growth

Jodhpur/Udaipur: Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat visited Udaipur on Sunday and spoke to First India, highlighting the growing enthusiasm around ‘Rising Rajasthan’. He noted significant interest from investors, particularly in the tourism sector, and emphasized that Rajasthan is becoming a top destination for international tourists. “We are committed to taking Rajasthan’s tourism to new heights,” he added.

On the upcoming byelections, Shekhawat expressed confidence that the people of Rajasthan would decisively support the BJP. He also commented on the Samrawata slap incident, calling for a fair and just investigation. He paid tribute to the late Mahendra Singh Mewar at Samore Bagh.

Shekhawat, who had long advocated for the Jodhpur elevated road project, celebrated its tender issuance. The Rs 938 crore, 7.6 km, fourlane road will connect Mahamandir Chauraha to Akhaliya Chauraha. At the airport, BJP officials and workers welcomed him warmly.

On Article 370, he called it a ‘blemish’ on the nation, praising PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for its abrogation. He quoted Home Minister Amit Shah’s remark, “Even if Indira Gandhi returns from heaven, Article 370 won’t be reinstated.”
