Security concerns rise with terrorist arrests in Bhiwadi
The discovery of ISIS and Al Qaeda hideouts in the Mewat region, near New Delhi, has drawn national attention to Alwar district and the broader Mewat area. The presence of these terrorist activities is a serious concern. Bhiwadi, close to Delhi, has also been affected by recent events, including the arrest of six Al Qaeda terrorists, which poses a significant challenge to the security system and raises concerns about potential impacts on major investments.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is on track to become the world’s thirdlargest economy, which is expected to attract major industrial investments to Bhiwadi, Alwar district, and surrounding areas in Haryana. However, the recent discovery of an Al Qaeda base in the Bhiwadi forests and the arrest of six terrorists involved in arms training have heightened concerns for security and intelligence agencies. These arrests, along with revelations from ISIS terrorist Rizwan Ali, apprehended in Delhi before Independence Day, have intensified scrutiny of the region.
Rizwan Ali revealed during interrogation that he is linked with the notorious terrorist Shahnawaz Alam, who was arrested in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, in 2023. Together, they were involved in a bomb blast trial in Nuh, near the Rajasthan-Haryana border, in 2021. This region also saw violence during the 2023 Braj Mandal Yatra.
