River rejuvenation: Union Min Yadav’s padyatra likely

Alwar: Union Environment and Forest Minister Bhupender Yadav’s padayatra is proposed to revive the Sabi river. According to information, the Union Minister can do padyatra for a week. Yadav will be the first Union Minister to come forward for the revival of Sabi. The Water Resources Department has already held preliminary discussions with the Union Minister on the plan of padyatra.

River Sabi once used to recharge groundwater in a radius of 5 thousand square kilometers but there has been no inflow of water in Sabi river for years. This river was once the lifeline for hundreds of villages in Alwar district and the river, which has been in the grip of encroachments for years, is searching for its existence.
