Rahul Gandhi attends Congress training camp in Mount Abu
Mount Abu: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday attended a training camp organised by the party’s training department in Mount Abu, Sirohi. It was the first visit of Rahul Gandhi to Rajasthan after Bharat Jodo Yatra, and came a day ahead of PM Narendra Modi’s public rally in Abu Road town in the same district. During the visit to the camp at Swaminarayan dharamshala, Gandhi interacted with delegates taking part in the training. He also listened to bhajan with them.
Former MLA Lalaram Garasia and Gangaben Garasiya also reached outside the camp venue to meet Gandhi. However, they were stopped by the police following which they alleged that tribal leaders were being stopped from meeting Gandhi.
Later, they were called inside. After spending a few hours, Gandhi returned. Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi reached Dabok Airport in Udaipur from Delhi. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasara received him.
From there he reached Mount Abu by helicopter. Minister in charge Mahendra Chaudhary, minister Sukhram Vishnoi and PCC member Harish Chaudhary welcomed Gandhi at the polo ground where his helicopter landed.
It was ‘Sarvodaya Sangam camp’ which is organised by the AICC training department. Delegates from different parts of the country take part in the camp in which the training about the party’s ideology and programmes is given.
In these camps, many activities are conducted along with spinning wheels. The main focus remains on Gandhism and the ideology of the Congress. These camps are held three times a year.
