RaGa raises eyebrows with single panel list, asks if there is crunch of candidates
New Delhi: The brainstorming over Cong candidates continued on Wednesday also in CEC meeting held in Delhi at the Congress headquarters. According to the sources, party leader Rahul Gandhi objected to a single panel and asked whether there was dearth of candidates. A list of 106 single names was approved in meeting. However, seeing list of 106 names, Rahul said angrily, “These are the same old names.” In response, committee said, “Where there is an option, only those names have been changed. Where there is no alternative, we are moving ahead with old names.” “Is there no other new contender for these seats?,” Rahul asked again. Actually, a long list of single panels was kept in the meeting and thus, in such a situation, consensus could not be reached on most of the names. According to sources, CEC meet can now be held again, there will be a detailed talks regarding the names.
