Patel’s convoy attacked in Jalore
Jalore: The convoy of BJP candidate MP Devji Patel was targeted by a group of protesters. The incident occurred as the convoy was returning from Godham Pathmeda gaushala. Devji Patel, who had been nominated as the BJP candidate for the Sanchore assembly, faced opposition from the supporters of Danaram Choudhary, who was denied ticket by the party.
The protesters, who were vehemently against the party’s decision to give ticket to Devji Patel, gathered and stopped the convoy about seven kilometers before Sanchore.
They showed black flags, held placards, and chanted slogans, signaling their disapproval. The situation escalated, leading to the pelting of stones at the convoy. One of the vehicles had its rear window shattered, and the MP’s car, along with another, suffered damage. No injuries were reported in the incident. Later, a complaint was filed with Sanchore police station.
It was the first visit of Devji Patel to Sanchore after being named as the party candidate in the first list of 41 candidates issued on Monday.
