Not in race for CM’s post, says Shekhawat; corners Congress
Ajmer: Amid speculation that Gajendra Shekhawat may be fielded by the BJP in the Rajasthan Assembly polls, Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said he is not in the race for the CM’s post.
Earlier, tension flared up outside BJP office in Ajmer as supporters of two potential candidates for the Ajmer north seat Vasudev Devnani and Subhash Kabra faced off and raised slogans when Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was holding a meeting. Kabra, who is seeking ticket for Ajmer North assembly seat, openly opposed Devnani’s claim for ticket, citing a lack of development progress over the past 20 years. This led to a heated exchange, even involving Minister Shekhawat’s convoy being halted by Kabra’s supporters.
Later, in a PC, Shekhawat criticized Congress govt, stating that they came to power in 2018 with false promises, but their priorities remained self-centered. Shekhawat also referred to the “Lal Diary” as a symbol of corruption by the Cong govt, alleging that it hid the youth’s future and mishandled paper leaks.
