Message of Lord Mahavir relevant even today: Gehlot

Karauli: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Thursday that the teachings of Lord Mahavir are relevant even today. “Where there is an atmosphere of peace and non-violence, there is the abode of God. Intellectuals from all over the world respect the ancient culture of India, the root cause of which is the inherent peace and non-violence in it,” the CM was addressing the Panchkalyanak Festival and Mahamastakabhisheka ceremony at Mahavirji in Karauli on Thursday. He said that it is a matter of good fortune to get the opportunity to start the Panchkalyanak festival by hoisting the flag. “Being influenced by the teachings of Lord Mahavir, Mahatma Gandhi imbibed the ideas of truth and non-violence. The freedom movement in the country was inspired by these thoughts only. The state govt is working on priority for the development of pilgrimage site Mahavirji. In Shri Mahavirji, basic facilities have been developed rapidly with excellent management in education, medicine, sanitation and other areas since last years,” he said. Appreciating the museum built in the temple premises, he said that beautiful idols have been installed in this museum built in a special style. On this occasion, CM congratulated on installation of 24-feet statue of Lord Mahavir. After hoisting the flag of Mahamastakabhisheka and Panchkalyanak festival, the Chief Minister conducted darshan of Lord Shri Mahavirji and prayed for the prosperity of the state. On this occasion, he also released the souvenir of Panchkalyanak and Mahamastakabhisheka programme. CM Gehlot said that the message of social harmony is going across the state through the Panchkalyanak festival.
