LONGEWALA WAR HERO BHAIRON SINGH RATHORE BREATHES HIS LAST

Jodhpur: Bhairon Singh Rathore of Shergarh in Jodhpur, the hero of the 1971 IndiaPakistan war, passed away at 81 on Monday. He breathed last at AIIMS in Jodhpur. Bhairon Singh was admitted to hospital on Dec 14 following complaints of breathing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke to Bhairon Singh’s son on Vijay Diwas and inquired about his health. Rathore was posted in the 14th battalion of BSF at Longewala post in Jaisalmer in 1971 and showed extraordinary courage and bravery while confronting Pakistani soldiers. He shot down as many as 20 Pakistani soldiers with MFG. Rathore had fought bravely with Major Kuldeep Singh’s company of 120 soldiers.
