Jaitaran custodial suicide allegation: DSP removed, entire staff sent to lines
Beawar: Following the alleged suicide of an accused in police custody at Jaitaran police station, significant administrative actions have been taken. Ajmer Range IG has removed DSP Seema Chopra from her position, appointing an Additional Superintendent of Police to take charge. Concurrently, Beawar SP Narendra Singh Chaudhary has sent the entire police station, including the SubInspector, to police lines.
On Saturday, SP Chaudhary took decisive action, ordering all personnel at Jaitaran police station to report to the Beawar police lines. This includes the station incharge, Balbhadra Singh, and 23 other police officers and staff. The incident involved a young man, arrested on charges of kidnapping and gang rape, who allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the barracks.
The alleged suicide prompted a strong reaction from the local Seervi community, who demanded the immediate removal of DSP Seema Chopra. Responding to this, the IG transferred Chopra to the Ajmer headquarters on Friday night, leading the family to finally retrieve the deceased’s body. Rakesh Seervi, a resident of Chawandia Kala, was the individual who died.
