Initiate necessary processes for new industries: Birla tells officials
Kota: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla highlighted Kota’s potential in the IT sector alongside its established strengths in manufacturing and food processing. Following the establishment of the IIIT, he noted that the prospects for an IT hub in the city have been bolstered. Birla urged officials to promptly initiate necessary processes, such as land acquisition, to support new industries. He emphasised the importance of consulting local entrepreneurs for planning infrastructure projects, including an industrial park.
In a meeting with district administration, Kota Development Authority, and Municipal Corporation officials, Birla discussed development and basic facilities. He highlighted Kota’s growing reputation as an industrial center and its strategic advantage due to improved connectivity, which will strengthen Hadoti’s industrial growth.
The completion of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will integrate Kota into a major industrial corridor and boost logistics. Birla also directed the KDA to launch a new housing scheme and expressed concerns over the city’s cleanliness.
