Holding elections together in nation is matter of debate: CM Ashok Gehlot
Bhilwara: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Friday said the BJP-led Centre’s move to form a committee to explore possibility of ‘one nation, one election’ indicated that the ruling party has sensed it would be trounced by INDIA alliance in general elections. “PM Modi is so worried due to the INDIA alliance that he and Centre have sensed they are not going to win the 2024 LS elections and BJP’s defeat is also certain in the states where assembly elections are going to be held this year,” said Gehlot.
“Discussion has been held earlier too, till 1967, the elections used to be conducted together. Holding the elections together is a matter of debate in country,” he told reporters in Bhilwara. Gehlot said PM Modi had in Bhopal accused Ajit Pawar of amassing `80k crore, but 10 days after that Pawar joined BJP and was made Finance Minister.
