Govt committed for sports development and upliftment of sportspersons: Gehlot

Jodhpur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Friday that the State Government is working continuously for the development of sports and all round upliftment of sportspersons, for which, schemes are being implemented at every level with a multidimensional thinking. “Organization of Rural Olympics has created a wonderful environment for sports in Rajasthan and sports talent is getting a lot of encouragement. With this, in the coming time, the players of the state will bring laurels to Rajasthan by performing well in national and international competitions,” Gehlot said while addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of Sports Complex at College of Physical Education. On this occasion, Gehlot laid the foundation stone of development works worth Rs 374.53 crore and inaugurated development works worth Rs 20.91 crore for all round development of Jodhpur. The CM performed ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ for the Sports Complex and unveiled the foundation stone laying plaque. He observed maps and models related to the complex and also planted saplings on the occasion. Gehlot said, “Rajasthan has made a mark as a model state in the country. The future belongs to today’s youth and with this vision, youth are being empowered in every field. The state government is making efforts to bring forward their talents,” he said. “Digifest will lead to higher level training, development of talents, increase in employment opportunities,” he said.

Sports Minister Ashok Chandna said that under CM’s leadership, State Govt is working with commitment for the development of sports and sportspersons. District In-charge Minister Dr Subhash Garg thanked CM for ‘gifts’ worth about Rs 400 cr to Jodhpur. Dr Krishna Poonia appreciated CM’s efforts for development of sports.
