Demand raised to recognise Mayad language

Nagaur: The state’s biggest Mayad language festival was jointly organized by Akhil Bhartiya Rajasthani Bhasha Manayata Sangharsh Samiti and Nem Prakashan in Deh village of Jayal town on Sunday. A series of books written in the Mayad language by different authors were also released on this occasion. The Chief Guest was famous Rajasthani litterateur Professor Arjun Dev Charan.

“There is no selfishness or greed of the litterateurs in demanding recognition of the Rajasthani language. But this demand is for the livelihood of the youths of Rajasthan. The litterateur is doing the work of making the society aware, considering it as his duty,” said Prof. Arjun Dev Charan.

Former President of Rajasthani Bhasha Sahitya and Sanskriti Academi (Bikaner) Prof. Dev Kothari said that this is the biggest language gathering of the state.

Program coordinator Laxman Dan Kaviya said that a total of 24 litterateurs were awarded for their creative contribution to the biggest literary festival in the state.

Historian and translator Dr Dev Kothari was honoured with the ‘Roopchand Samadiya Rajasthani Bhasha Seva Shikhar Puraskar’ of Rs. 51,000 for his long and excellent literary service. The remaining 23 litterateurs were honoured with Rs. 11,000 cash prizes.
