Court extends interim bail to BJP MLA Chandrakanta

Kota: The district and sessions court here on Monday extended the interim bail for BJP MLA Chandrakanta Meghwal and gave her relief till June 16. The court extended the interim bail for three more days. The court will now hear arguments on the anticipatory bail application on June 16.

Meghwal’s lawyer Rajesh Adsela informed the investigation officer appeared before the court with the case diary today (Monday). The acting judge inspected the case diary and fixed the next hearing for June 16. The lawyer sought time from the court citing a sore throat. The bail application of the then BJP Mandal President Babulal Renwal is also pending before the court. The court also deferred the arrest of Babulal Renwam and fixed June 16 for next hearing. Notably, the BJP lawmaker had been booked under sections of the IPC and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
