Chandipura virus: 2 kids admitted in Dungarpur, 4 deaths so far in Raj
Dungarpur: Two children of Ramsor and Baldia villages in Dungarpur were reportedly found to be infected with the suspected Chandipura virus. They have been admitted to Dungarpur Medical College Hospital and their samples have been sent to Pune Biological Lab. Meanwhile, four children have died in the last 10 days but the medical department claims that they died due to TB and viral fever.
Dr Nilesh Gothi, incharge of paediatrics dept, said that a 4.5-yr-old girl from Ramsor Badgi was admitted on July 10 and a 3-yr-old boy from Baldia on July 12. “They showed symptoms of Chandipura virus. Their samples were sent to Pune and reports are awaited but since the children are complaining of vomiting, diarrhoea and fever, doctors suspect they are affected with the virus,” he said.
