BSF to keep eye on border activity ahead of January 22 event
Jaisalmer: The BSF has been alerted to keep a vigil on the 1037-km long border of the state with Pakistan in view of the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22. BSF is already on alert due to the possibility of infiltration from across the border as there is dense fog. A special vigil has been started in Ayodhya due to the grand event and Republic Day on 26 January.
BSF’s special alert operation ‘Sard Hawa’ will start next week. During this, staff and officers working at sector and battalion headquarters are also sent to the border. Besides, modern weapons and equipment are also kept at the border. IG and DIG level officers spend the night on the border.
