BJP govt will be formed with thumping majority: Raje

Jaipur: Former Chief Minister and national vice president of BJP Vasundhara Raje said on Wednesday that the BJP government will be formed again in Rajasthan with a thumping majority and the pension of those who fought to establish democracy will start back, which has been stopped by the Ashok Gehlot government.

Raje was speaking on the topic ‘Emergency and our role in restoring democracy’ at the MLA exercise class organised by the BJP at Jamdoli. She said, “When I became the Chief Minister for the first time, our government took care of all the people who were jailed under MISA and DIR and started the pension, but when Ashok Gehlot became the Chief Minister in 2008, he stopped this scheme. After that when our government came back in 2013, we again started not only pension for the MISA prisoners and those who went to jail under DIR. Later when Ashok Gehlot became the Chief Minister in 2018, he again stopped the pension of MISA prisoners,” Raje said.

The former CM said that BJP government will be formed again in 2023.

She said that during the Emergency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to jail in disguise and used to pass important information to our leaders in jail. Our leaders, to arrest whom cops were trying their best, PM Modi used to ferry them from one place to another by scooter.

Raje said that the spirit of Emergency has not come out of the mind of Congress even today. “Even today its conduct is similar to Emergency. Police have been put behind those MLAs who are part of the government. Such treatment is done to criminals, like this government is doing with its own MLAs. If this is not an emergency then what is,” Raje asked.

Notably, she ended her speech with former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s poem ‘Ab Andhaar Chhatega, Suraj Nikkega Aur Kamal Khilega’.
