BIPARJOY LASHES THE STATE
Barmer: Several places in Rajasthan received heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours due to Cyclone Biparjoy, which moved further towards the desert state following its landfall in Gujarat, officials said on Saturday.
Heavy rains, floodlike situations have been reported from many parts in Barmer, following which NDRF and SDRF teams have been deployed while Army is put on alert mode. BSF teams have also been deployed in many bordering villages.
In Barmer, officials informed that against the average rainfall of 380 mm during the monsoon, Barmer has recorded 1706 mm rain during the past 28 hrs. Barmer district collector Arun Purohit confirmed the report.
Rainfall of 383 mm was recorded in Mount Abu, 203 mm in Jalore, 76 mm in Churu, 68 mm in Reodar, 59 mm in Sanchor, 57 mm in Pindwara, 49 mm each in Gogunda and Girva, 40 mm in Jhadol, 35 mm in Kotda, 30 mm in Sirohi was recorded.
