Bhiwadi’s black water woes finally eased

Bhiwadi: For the past 40 years, the industrial city of Bhiwadi has been plagued by black water and waterlogging, causing significant distress for both industrialists and residents. However, this perennial issue now appears to be on the mend thanks to strict administrative monitoring and effective management strategies.

This rainy season, the notorious black water of Bhiwadi is notably absent, a testament to the administration’s diligent efforts. Recent drainage water samples collected during two rain events show remarkable improvements in pH, TSS, COD, and BOD levels compared to last year. These samples, tested by the National Board for Testing and Filmination Laboratories, confirm the positive impact of the measures implemented.

Dr. Artika Shukla, the Khairthal Collector, has been instrumental in addressing this problem with meticulous planning since assuming her role. Collaborating with the Haryana administration, Dr. Shukla oversaw the completion of the remaining work in Amrit 1 from March to June 2024.
