Assam on developmental path; Rajasthanis are important contributors: Guv Kataria

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Friday that Congress or I.N.D.I.A perhaps do not know, that the name of the person they are trying to attack, is Modi. Sarma was speaking at the ‘Rajasthani Sammelan’ organized by Bharat24 and First India in Guwahati on Friday.

Speaking in an interview to Rubika Liyaquat at the conference, the Chief Minister said that if he had met Modi 24 years ago, he would have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party all those years ago. Taking a dig at I.N.D.I.A. alliance, Sarma said that the alliance name does not change its nature. He also said that Rahul and Modi can never be compared with. Earlier, the chief guest of the program, Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, started the program by lighting the lamp and started the cultural programs hailing from Rajasthan and Assam.

In his welcome speech, Dr Jagdeesh Chandra - CEO and Editor-inChief, Bharat24-Vision of New India; CMD and Editor-in-Chief of First India News and First India said that today the law and order situation in Assam is very good and now even at night people are able to go out without any bother. “Not only this, under the leadership of CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam is on the path of progress. Rajasthanis living in Assam have the double responsibility of maintaining the culture of both Assam and Rajasthan.

In the coming days, when Himanta Sarma comes to Rajasthan, he should also visit Shekhawati region from where people are present in large numbers in Assam and contribute to the development of Assam,” Dr. Chandra said.

In his interview, CM Himanta Biwsa Sarma said that the responsibility of maintaining the culture of both Rajasthan and Assam is on the Rajasthani society of Assam and they are performing it very well. About 1000 migrants participated in the Rajasthani conference and enjoyed cultural programs like Bihu Maharaj. The special guest of the program Ratan Sharma said that after moving away from Rajasthan, every Rajasthani in Assam has struggled but is now in the main stream here.
