All States & UTs working to make drive a grand success: Shekhawat
New Delhi: Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat announced on Thursday that the 3rd edition of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign will take place from August 9 to 15, 2024, as part of Independence Day celebrations. In a press conference in New Delhi, the Minister stated that the initiative aims to instill patriotism and national pride among citizens by encouraging every Indian to hoist the national flag, the Tiranga. He urged citizens to display Tiranga at home, take selfies with it, and upload photos on harghartiranga.com.
He noted that the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ drive, launched under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in 2022, has become a people’s movement embraced by diverse segments of society. In 2022, the national flag was hoisted at over 23 crore homes, with 6 crore selfies uploaded on the website. In 2023, more than 10 cr selfies were shared. Minister emphasised that all States & UTs are actively participating, with key partners like e-commerce platforms, railways, and the Indian armed forces contributing to drive’s success. SHGs are also playing a significant role in flag production.
