55th GST council meet commences
Jaislamer: he two-day 55th GST Council meet will be held in Jaisalmer, where finance ministers of the states will deliberate and consult on the Union Budget today. The council meeting will be held today. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Delhi CM Atishi, Haryana CM Naib Singh, Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah, Goa CM and Finance Minister Pramod Sawant, Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma, Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi, Himachal CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren will attend the meet. Finance Minister Diya Kumari will also attend the meeting.
Tight security arrangements have been made with around 2000 police and other agencies personnel deployed in Jaisalmer. Jodhpur Range IG Vikas Kumar and SP Vikas Chaudhary are monitoring the security arrangements.
IG Kumar said that guests will leave Jaisalmer with sweet memories. He has appealed to the general public to inform the police if they notice any suspicious activity
