5 of a family die by suicide in Bikaner

Bikaner: Five members of a family, including a couple, died by suicide by hanging themselves in the Muktaprasad Nagar police station area of Bikaner district on Thursday. According to the police, the dead include a man, his wife and their three children. The deceased identified as Hanuman Soni (45), wife Vimala (40), two sons Mohit (18), and Rishi (16) and daughter Gudiya (14), were residents of Antyodaya Nagar of Muktaprasad Nagar police station area. It is suspected that the family took the extreme step due to debts. The matter came to light after 2 days of the incident when landlord Anil Ranga went to collect the rent. The bodies of the wife and three children were found hanging, while the body of the head of the family was lying in another room, said SP Tejaswini Gautam. Police said initial probe revealed that Hanuman used to do work of jewellery and was troubled due to financial constraints. In a suicide note, the deceased have accused their relatives of attempting to usurp their property and belongings.
