Born on September 8, 1981, in Mumbai, Mikkhail Vaswani grew up in a supportive family. His parents, Capt. Karan Vaswani and Mrs. Rachana Vaswani, nurtured his interests. He attended Kendriya Vidyalaya for school, followed by St. Aloysius College, where he completed his BSc in Computer Science. Later, he pursued further studies at Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication, marking a significant shift towards media and broadcasting.
Mikkhail's love for cricket began in Mangalore, where he played junior cricket for Mangalore Zone under the Dakshin Karnataka Cricket Association (DKCA). He represented the zone in Under-13, Under-16, and Under-19 groups and was even the captain in his college cricket team. He also represented his university and went for state selections in all these groups. Mikkhail kept wickets for his college's Division A and B teams, leading an active and impressive cricket career.
Although he had a deep passion for playing cricket, Mikkhail's career took a different turn when he participated in " Dream Job - Harsha Ki Khoj," India's first reality show aimed at finding talented cricket commentators. His knowledge of the game and excellent communication skills brought him to the final round of the competition. This was the turning point in his life, transitioning from a cricketer to a voice that talks about cricket.
He stepped into the media industry, working with top channels like NDTV, Zee, and Times Now. His ability to speak to the audience in a relatable manner quickly made him a favorite.
In 2015, Mikkhail Vaswani founded Cricfit and Cricfit Academy, platforms that aim to promote cricket among younger players. This initiative shows his commitment to the sport beyond commentary. Through Cricfit, Mikkhail not only shares insights but also nurtures upcoming talent.
Mikkhail Vaswani is more than just a commentator. He is a television broadcaster, influencer, and entrepreneur. Over the years, he has hosted several international cricket events for the ICC and ACC. Mikkhail Vaswani is married to Krittika Pandya Vaswani. The couple tied the knot in Mumbai on May 26, 2019.
