MOTHERS... A WALKING MIRACLE!

Mother is the heartbeat in the home, and without her, there seems to be no heartthrob. Many of us are grateful to our mothers for not only bringing us into the world but also for raising us to be the wonderful people we are today. Mother’s Day is also a great time to show your love for all the other wonderful women in your life.

Whether it’s a special piece of jewellery she’s had her eye on or her favourite snacks, a thoughtful gift, remind your mom of how well you know her and that you’re thinking of her. What does your mom love? Be creative. Of all the relationships known to humans, there is one that effortlessly outperforms everything else. It’s the relationship that a mother and her children share. It’s truly valuable because nothing can come close to a mother’s unending love, dedication, and devotion to her children. From the time a child is born, the mother fiercely ensures that the young ones feel protected at all times around her and shapes their personality to make them battle all odds in life. Mother’s Day is celebrated to recognise the contributions of all mothers.

Mothers are like glue. Even when you can’t see them, they’re still holding the family together. Mother’s Day is the special time of year when you get to celebrate your first best friend and the person you always turn to when you need advice. City First spoke to a few people from Rajasthan, New Delhi, Lucknow and Mumbai to know how they are planning to express love to their mothers, grandmothers, or any other mother figure in their lives!

My sister lives out of Jaipur, while I stay quite close to my mother’s place, plus being the younger one, she sometimes feel sad for not being able to spend more time with our mom. I also believe that every day is special, one should celebrate family everyday, especially mothers. But today, I’d love to call my sister home and cherish our childhood memories with our mom. We would also cook something special for her. Coming from a joint family, it’s always a blessing in itself as we get to celebrate special occasions with all our family members. —Suneeta Dusad, Rajasthan

This Mother’s Day, I will gift my mother-in-law her favourite Rajput attire and will celebrate the day according to her will. We will also watch and enjoy her favourite Rajasthani movie, Vachan together. My soul intention is to make my motherin- law happy on her special day. —Laxmi, Rajasthan

Gifting a beautiful Kurti and handmade bouquet will bring a beautiful smile to her face. We also want to decorate our house and surprise her with a homie party with cake, mouth-watering dishes and her favourite songs. Coming from a medical background, I often fail to give enough time to my mother. This mother’s day, I don’t plan to do something extra special, instead I would remind her how precious she is and I would spend as much time as possible with her. She has been there through my thick and thin in life. I have seen my mom taking care of me and this Mother’s Day I want to celebrate it with my daughter. She is very small so I just want to celebrate it in a very educational way so that she can see and learn the importance of parents and elders in her life. I will call my mother and wish her as well from me and my daughter’s side. Then we will visit my mother and mother-in-law and will celebrate the day with them. I watched my mother do it all for me and now it’s my turn. This mother’s day, I’d be doing something special! Usually my mom bosses the kitchen everyday but this time, i’ll be taking over! This mother’s day I have both my mom and my grandmother with me and I am feeling loved. I will make a mother’s day card for both of them and make flowers out of tissue paper that I learned back in school.
