BHANDARI - A LIVING MESSIAH!
As part of the Monthly Desert Soul series of Rajasthan Forum, sponsored by Shree Cement, Dr Sudhir Bhandari, Principal and Controller, SMS Medical College & Hospital, Jaipur, spoke about his journey and interacted with the who’s who of Jaipur at ITC Rajputana on Friday.
He was in conversation with Apra Kuchhal, Executive Secy of Rajasthan Forum and such was his charisma and the outpouring of knowledgeable experiences that the audience sat spellbound and was loath for the evening to end.
Responding to Apra’s questions, Dr Sudhir Bhandari spoke candidly about his childhood, personal life, the medical profession and challenges related to COVID-19.
Talking about the challenges of the medical profession, Dr Bhandari said that there is no accounting of hours and there is little time left for the family. But despite this, the happiness and satisfaction you get while treating people is the real wealth.
About the new wave, he said, “We have a role model of virus and we know how to manage patients, Omicron is a milder variant and like a vaccine which is building immunity. By the end of March we will develop higher immunity against this virus and its variants”.
In response to a question by the audience, Dr Sudhir Bhandari who has been at the forefront of the Organ donation and transplant project in Rajasthan, eloquently spoke about the noble cause and how more than 200 lives have been saved due to the efforts of the SMS team.
Dr Bhandari is an iconic figure in the medical field and the author of a multitude of bestsellers on health topics.
