ALL ABOUT DRY FRUITS

Dry fruits are popular food items and are consumed in multiple forms such as raw or in sweets and other preparations. They help build a strong immune system hence they should be consumed daily. They are beneficial for the human body in every season. People avoid their consumption during the summers fearing harmful effects. However, soaked dry fruits can be eaten during the summer season as well. Consumption of soaked nuts in the morning can keep one energetic for the entire day. The nutritional properties of the dry fruits increase when they are soaked in water. Soaking also decreases the amount of phytic acid present in them.

These are certain dry fruits that are loaded with nutrients and can be consumed in any season.

BLACK RAISINS
It is advised to soak the black grapes raisins overnight before consuming them. It is very beneficial for patients with problems such as anaemia and kidney stones. They are rich in magnesium, potassium and iron.

RAISINS
Overnight soaked raisins are very helpful in controlling high blood pressure. They also strengthen the digestive system and immune system. The water in which the raisins are soaked is very beneficial if consumed. Raisins are known to strengthen the bones and improve iron levels in the body thus curing iron deficiency in patients.

DRY FIGS
Figs can also be eaten in summers after soaking them. They provide us with zinc, manganese, magnesium and iron. Dry Figs have sufficient antioxidants and fibre so are essential for women. They are also helpful in treating hormonal issues and problems related to menstruation. Figs are also known to manage heart-related conditions.

FLAX SEEDS
Flax seeds are highly beneficial because they reduce the bad cholesterol in the body. They are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids.

PISTACHIOS
Pistachios are rich in micro and macronutrients, such as potassium, magnesium and vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 is an essential nutrient as it helps to make haemoglobin.

POPPY SEEDS
Poppy seeds help in maintaining the metabolism of the body and are a good source of folate and other vitamins.

ALMONDS
Almonds should be eaten every season. They should be soaked in water overnight and peeled in the morning for consumption. Almonds are rich in monounsaturated fats which reduces the risk of a heart attack. It is also rich in antioxidants and helps in reducing weight.

HAZEL NUTS
Hazelnuts increase the lowdensity lipoprotein levels, which lower blood cholesterol levels. They are good sources of iron, which our blood requires for a healthy oxygen supply.

WALNUTS
Walnuts can also be presoaked before consumption as they help in weight management and are rich in antioxidants and Omega 3 which helps in preventing tissue damage, heart-related issues, cancer, ageing symptoms, etc.
