Work diligently to maintain water supply: CM Sharma

Jaipur: The state government is working on active mode to ensure regular supply of water and electricity in the state. On Wednesday, the Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma reached the pump house to take stock of the water supply system in the city.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inspected the pump house located at Ramniwas Bagh and Jawahar Circle Pump House and instructed the officials to work diligently to maintain continuous water supply system from the pump house. Talking to journalists, Sharma said that at this time the state is going through a period of severe heat wave. The state government is making suitable arrangements by properly utilising all the available resources and channels for the supply of water to the common people. He said that their goal is to provide water to every household. The Chief Minister said that under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, the Central Government had allocated a budget to every division and district. However, the previous Congress government cheated the people and did not spend the budget in Rajasthan on this ambitious scheme.

Continuing his jibe on Congress, Sharma said that earlier when electricity was Rs 3.50-4.00 per unit, then electricity could have been purchased by the Congress government but they did not purchase electricity and took unwise decisions in the energy sector, due to which now our government is purchasing 3 times more expensive electricity at Rs 11- 12 during peak load. Moreover, during the peak load of May, June, July, 147 lakh units of electricity have to be returned to other states every day, he added. Congress leaders should explain what was their real intention behind not making arrangements for electricity for the people of the state at that time? In such difficult times, our government is engaged in ensuring power supply to the people of the state. CM said state govt has signed MoUs worth Rs 1.60 lakh crore to strengthen the power system and work is being started rapidly towards bringing it on the ground. Also, in view of increasing demand, power generation is being increased by starting Dholpur and Ramgarh thermal power and gas plants and process of continuous power purchase is going on.
