With Pant at helm, generational shift in Rajasthan’s bureaucracy expected!
Jaipur: As 1991 batch IAS officer, Sudhansh Pant is set to head the State bureaucracy as the new Chief Secretary, a new face of bureaucracy is also expected to be seen in Bhajan Lal government.
Pant will be able to remain on the CS post for three years and two months and with it the government will be relieved from the hassle of appointing the CS again and again. Also, after this, a new era of generation shifting may begin in State bureaucracy as well, in which it is possible to give important responsibilities to more young, capable and efficient bureaucrats. This will make possible to realise the vision of Modi government to bring youth forward.
Pant ranks 8th in seniority and after he becomes CS, ACS Subodh Aggarwal and Shubhra Singh may have to move out of the secretariat. However, Subodh himself broke this trend in the previous Gehlot government as he had agreed to work in the Secretariat even after his junior Niranjan Arya became the CS. After this, PK Goyal also followed his footsteps. Pant’s challenge will be to build the image of the government through better implementation of the schemes of PM Modi and the state government.
